A bench of Justices S A Bobde and S Abdul Nazeer said that injunction granted on August 31, last year on the declaration of result for SSC CGL, 2017, would not continue on a re-examination conducted on March 9, 2018.
SSC CGL 2017: The Supreme Court today suggested the scrapping of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Common Graduate Level (CGL) examination that was conducted in 2017. The apex court in its verdict observed that it was not possible to identify and catch all the culprits who got benefited for leak of paper and has passed the order for the scrapping of the examination, asking the central government to respond on the same.
By Asian News International: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against three individuals who were arrested in connection with the 2017 Staff Selection Commission (SSC) paper leak case.
\"The CBI had on May 22, 2018, registered a Regular Case (RC) against certain private persons including candidates, officials of the Noida (Uttar Pradesh)-based private technology company and unknown officials of the SSC and other unknown persons on the allegations of criminal conspiracy, criminal misconduct by the public servants and cheating by personation by using computer resources with regard to conduct of online CGL Tier-II Examination, 2017,\" the agency said in a statement.
The SSC had conducted the Document Verification and Skill Test for 35,990 eligible candidates of CGL 2017 from June 16 to July 31, 2019. The evaluation of the Skill Test (CPT and DEST) will take about 3-4 month and the result for the same is expected to be released by end of November 2019.
Apart from this, since the commission is busy conducting of its other examinations, in strict conformity with the Annual Calendar 2019- 20 and due to the extremely tight schedule, the SSC CGL 2017 Result is getting delay.
Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017 (Tier-I) from 01.08.2017 to 20.08.2017 for selecting candidates for Tier-II examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations. Subject to administrative / public exigencies, final selection through the Combined Graduate Level Examination to specific categories of posts would be according to the confirmed number of vacancies from the concerned Indenting Ministries/ Department/Office/Cadres before declaration of results.
All candidates who will qualify SSC CGL 2017 Tier 2 Exam and appear in SSC CGL 2017 Tier 3 Exam (except for the post of AAO and Junior Statistical officer) need to appear in SSC CGL 2017 Tier 4 Exam. This Tier 4 is of qualifying nature, no marks will be added in final merit list.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a result date for the 2017 CGL Tier II exam, as well as the 2017 CGL Tier III exam date. In a notification, the SSC has clarified that candidates need to clear both Tier-I and Tier-II exams separately of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2017 exam to be eligible for Tier-III.
There was confusion regarding the 2017 SSC CGL exam pattern and selection process, as a previous notification from the Commission seemed to suggest that candidates clearing the Tier-I exam would be eligible for both Tier-II and Tier-III exams.
The notification also listed the tentative exam date for the CGL 2017 Tier-III examination as July 8th. There has been no change in the result date of CGL 2017 Tier-II exam and, as previously reported, it is expected to be declared on June 8th.
The SSC originally conducted the CGL 2017 Tier-II examination from February 17th to 22nd, 2018, but the exam was marred with allegations of leak and students also faced technical glitches during the exam. Therefore, the Commission conducted a re-examination on March 9th.

During the hearing, Advocate Prashant Bhushan who was appearing for petitioner Shantanu Kumar who sought cancellation of the CGL 2017 examination, said that currently examination is conducted by a private company Sify Technologies Pvt Ltd. and the contract of this company has already expired.
