Apple today has released iTunes 9.2.1 for both Windows and Mac OS X. This is a minor release which mainly brings stability & performance improvements, along with bug fixes when taking backups and syncing all the iOS based devices. Full change log is as follows.

iTunes is a multimedia player and device manager. A comprehensive music store, originally made for Apple users to download and play music. Now available on Windows too, iTunes is the perfect place to organise music, watch TV shows and movies, create playlists and more. Through iTunes, users are equipped to record CDs, edit music files, purchase music and videos from the iTunes Store, and basically access music easily and legally
iTunes is an excellent program to organize and a personal music repository. Thousands of downloaded songs and albums are easy to categorize, sort, and create custom playlists. Essentially an mp3 player, iTunes allows users to shuffle through their song collection, to experience randomized song playlists, enhancing the listening experience. For Apple users, iTunes can sync on multiple devices, so you can maintain the iTunes library across devices. The visualizer feature adds graphical effects to the song being played, adding a new layer to the music experience. iTunes is also a great platform for movies and TV shows, One can edit, rename, or move files, and even change the file format. The music can be played across devices, which are not restricted to Apple devices anymore. One can easily purchase music through the iTunes store, and have access to millions of songs and albums from across the world. iTunes also now has a Radio feature, which connects you to radio streaming channels from across the world, covering a number of genres, topics, and music preferences. While predominantly perceived as a music organizer, iTunes also has a vast library of e-books, podcasts, audiobooks, videos, and more.iTunes is, in fact, ideal to store audiobooks and organize them properly.
An excellent user-friendly interface, with simple navigation and features, makes iTunes a great platform to store and experience music. For those users who remember having to sieve through messy folders for music, iTunes came as an absolute boon. Now, apps and music are so readily available, iTunes is still the place to store an entire library of downloaded mp3, which is not streaming online, but owned by the user. Whether users access it from the Mac or from an iPhone or any Windows system, the quality of the program and the seamless experience remains the same.
The biggest drawback of iTunes is the restrictive nature of acquiring music or accessing new music. While the program itself is free, most new features require a paid subscription. Radio or streaming of videos also requires a paid subscription or is pay-to-download. Other music apps or even YouTube, which offer so much readily available free content for streaming are fast becoming the user preference. Music lovers do not now need to download songs, that they can stream any time. Unless one has a large library of downloaded music, millennial listeners just need to go on any streaming app and get access to unlimited songs and music videos.
An excellent multimedia library and device manager, that lets users maintain a personalized library of songs that are saved, instead of streamed. The downloaded or ripped files belong to the user and are accessible at any time. Even in the age of online streaming, there is merit in having a collection of music, video, and books, just for personal consumption, and iTunes allows users to maintain this expansive collection. iTunes is easy to use, great for sorting music according to artists, albums, genres, and songs. Even with no internet or net facility, one can access music on the device and is a personalized media consumption. iTunes is the go-to library for users with a vast collection of music, and with a Windows version, it now has a reach much wider than the Apple loyalists.
Apple has released tvOS 9.2.1 for the Apple TV 4th generation, and WatchOS 2.2.1 for Apple Watch. Both releases include bug fixes and minor feature enhancements and are recommended for the respective devices.
iTunes 12.4 can be downloaded through the Mac App Store, or through the iTunes app itself in Windows or Mac OS X. Users can also choose to download the update through the official iTunes website at apple.com/itunes.
When we connect the iPhone to this computer, we get an error window saying "The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
However, the iTunes download page says that iTunes 10.1.2 requires OS X 10.5 or later, and indeed, trying to download and install that version results in an error window saying "This package type requires Mac OS X 10.5."
(This is all a bit surprising, because iTunes 9.2.1 worked fine with an older iPhone and with an iPod Touch. It's hard for me to imagine what new magic in 10.5 is required to support syncing with a slightly newer model of iPhone.)

On September 1, 2010, Apple held their annual music press event where they unveiled an updated version: iTunes 10. The new version was available for download later that day. One major feature includes the integration of "iTunes Ping", which brings a social factor to the iTunes experience. Apple CEO Steve Jobs also announced a new logo, one without a CD in the background because of the increasing popularity of iTunes digital downloads.
In October 2012, Apple announced the launch of the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, the refresh of the iPod and Mac lines, and the upcoming release of iTunes 11. Slated for release by the end of October, the launch was pushed back to November 29, 2012. This version included tighter integration with iCloud, and a new user interface. Users' libraries now include all media they have stored in their iCloud account, along with any media unique to the device they are using. Media files stored in the cloud don't need to be downloaded before playing, allowing a larger collection to be accessible without increased disk usage. The new user interface includes a refreshed grid view, which replaces Cover Flow as the default layout method. With this change, Cover Flow is no longer available within the application. With the release of this software, the iTunes Store was redesigned to remain consistent with the new interface, and the stores available on iOS devices. The social element Ping was also removed and replaced by increased Twitter and Facebook integration. Other minor changes included disabling the sidebar by default, and slightly altering the icon to match that of the Mac App Store better.
Apple noted that iTunes 2 would be included on every new Mac system beginning in November, once the product ships. It requires Mac OS 9.2.1 or Mac OS X 10.1 or later. It is available now for free download.
If there's an update present, iTunes will notify you of it. Simply go ahead with the installation process and iTunes will even download the IPSW file for you so you don't have to do much legwork from your end.
iTunes download for Windows looks highly similar to the Mac app. The entertainment tool retains its white-colored interface, clean and minimalistic function placement, and convenient navigation. However, the features that make it stand apart from other similar applications are high-quality music downloads with no expiration date, multiple device support, family sharing, and a free trial of Apple Music.
Once downloaded, you can use it to access music files saved on your dashboard, listen to the radio, or buy music from the iTunes Store. All your purchases get saved in your library, and you can download them as and when you like. Downloading iTunes also gives you a free trial of Apple Music, a streaming service with over 70 million songs.
We are currently blocking the Apple update sites with our firewall to prevent users upgrading their iPads to IOS 9.3. However there are many that I want upgraded to 9.2.1. Im downloading all the .ipsw files. Can I manually add these to the caching server?
-08D2-4E0A-A5CD-155E345EFB83In short, if I'm reading that right if one device has downloaded 9.2.1 on the network then it should already be cached. Of course forcing iOS devices to get 9.2.1 is a different story. Caching server will not do that.
I have it configured to download iOS for all models and Mac OS updates, but be warned -- CacheWarmer generates a massive amount of network traffic as soon as Apple releases software. When Apple seeded the updated iOS 9.3 build yesterday, each of my servers downloaded over 200 GB of incremental upgrade packages for every version of iOS and every variety of iOS device.
I have one server scheduled to check for new packages hourly (default) and the other only checks in the evening, so one server can download all the files from Apple and then pass them on to the other later that day.
The problem I am trying to solve is that my network admin blocked access to the Apple update sites in order to prevent users from installing IOS 9.3. However I do want them all up to 9.2.1 and was trying to see if I could get 9.2.1 on the caching server. 2b1af7f3a8
