Flash back to Schmidt and Benjamin driving to Los Angeles, when Schmidt weighed a lot more. Benjamin promised he'd be rich some day and wrote Schmidt a check for $100 million. Jess hears his sad little story and goes and suggestions to Winston and Nick that they throw Schmidt a party. They explain they're not from his world, where everything gets shortened to one syllable. He called an oven \"oves\" and an airport \"airp.\" He went to a party themed \"Bros before hos on the moon,\" they're not even sure what that means. \"You are not mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared to throw these d-bags a party,\" Nick tells her. Nick excuses himself, the gang notices he is wearing his jury duty pants.
Kanan's uncles Marvin and Lou-Lou also appear in the show with a key storyline in season one exploring their complicated relationship with Raq, as the two brothers attempt to assert their dominance in the family business in which Raq is the unquestioned Queenpin. Marvin is keen to take Lou-Lou's role as Raq's right-hand man - while Lou-Lou attempts to juggle his responsibilities in the family business with his own venture into music.
\"One season isn't enough to tell the coming of age story of Kanan Stark and his mother, Raq, a fierce and successful woman who is a force of nature,\" said Starz president and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch. \"The anticipation globally for more of the Power Universe made it clear that the Kanan story needs to continue.\"

MG: A Wonderful Country goes further than the kind of TV satire that we have in the US or the UK, maybe because the stakes are so much higher in Israel. Maybe in a country with a tortured history, suffering under constant threat, the boundaries that satire needs to push up against are more real.
In 2019, a 60th Anniversary Retrospective titled The Untouchables Retrospective[22] was undertaken to celebrate the show's cultural impact and legacy in television and film history through mixed media, including extensive episode reviews, a podcast, and a making-of documentary. To date, the retrospective has interviewed several surviving participants involved with the program, including Pat Crowley and Nehemiah Persoff.[23]
After episode 10, it's clear that \"Andor\" is looking at those kinds of sacrifices in a profound way that expands the inner-life of characters like Luthen Rael and shows the emotional damage this kind of undertaking has truly brought on. Surely, Luthen will factor into the multi-year story arc of season 2 that will lead right up to the events of \"Rogue One,\" and his true contribution may wind up being just as important as Gaylen Erso's trap door.
That evening at Kobayashi's apartment, Tohru explains the situation to Kobayashi, who can't help because of her job. So, Tohru enlists the help of Lucoa, Shouta, Riko, Elma, and Fafnir. However, Elma only agreed to help on the pretense she'd be allowed to eat as much candy as she so wanted and that she has a ton of work to complete. Tohru, however, points out that Kobayashi says that she's \"useless\" at work and during this busy period, she'd be absolutely unnecessary. Despite Elma trying to argue contrary, she's shot down by Tohru. Once that's settled with, the group discuss what show they'll perform for the retirement home. Elma, Kanna, and Fafnir's ideas are shot down due to either how impossible or illogical their suggestions are, but Riko suggests they put on a play. Excited by the suggestion, Tohru decides to go with that suggestion. For the play they'll preform, Riko suggests since it's close to Christmas suggests The Little Match Girl. Curious as to what the story is about, Riko summarizes the plot of the story, but Tohru comically misunderstands the ending, which frustrates Elma. Kanna then compliments Riko for her knowledge which flusters her.
With the story of the play decided with, Fafnir declares himself as the director imposing that he won't allow any half-baked acting. However, Tohru notes that he was chosen as director because he can't act, which was a feasible compromise. From there auditions for the lead actor are done and first up is Tohru who fails due to her temper for being ignored by people. Up next is Elma, who fails due to mixing her work-ethics with the play. Finally, Riko is next, but fails due to her being far too intimidated by Fafnir's glare. Because of Fanir's strict nature, Lucoa volunteers to be the new director and suggests that Shouta play the role of the lead character the Match Girl. Although this is met with hesitation, Lucoa has Shout dress in the costume which is well received, however, Shouta feels too embarrassed to wear it. Because both Fafnir and Lucoa are sidelined as the directors, Elma steps up to the plate and left with no other person to play the role, Kanna is chosen and nails it. Later that night, Kobayashi arrives home and learns that a Little Match Girl play will be performed for the retirement home, with Kanna as the lead. Despite Tohru's optimistic attitude, Kobayashi thinks that when Tohru acts like that is when she most dangerous. As Kanna practices her role, Fafnir calls and suggests a script revision to modernize the play, where the Match Girl is a Magical Girl, but is hung up on by Tohru.
On the day of the play, both Kobayashi and Makoto arrive at the retirement home and watch the play which is an amalgamation of all of the ideas proposed to give the story more depth. Overall the play is a huge hit with the people of the retirement home and the show is deemed a success. Afterward, the group enjoy a Christmas Party at Kobayashi's apartment and when Kobayashi wakes up after passing out during the party, she learns what happened after she fell asleep. Because it's Christmas, Kobayashi decides to go on a job ride on Tohru's back. During this trip, Kobayashi receives a present from Tohru, which is special medicine that'd help Kobayashi with her chronic back pain. At first, Kobayashi is excited to receive this present until she learns that it's from the other-world that Tohru is from. Kobayashi then confesses how she felt when Tohru set out to start the play and how it would end, but was pleasantly surprised how well it went in the end. As it starts to snow, Kobayashi gives Tohru her present, which is a red scarf and ties it around her left horn.
Charles Adler: [00:02:32] Yeah, totally happy to. So I guess, yes, I would say I am a designer and I say that somewhat hesitant Lee, because I didn't study design. I didn't go to school for design. I actually went to school for mechanical engineering and before that was deeply interested in architecture. And so I had this like mild plan to go study architecture, which. It was a longer story. So originally I started out life wanting to be an architect in, tried to becoming an engineer. And then the internet kind of came along. And this is, you know, 93 to 96 period where I was in university and ended up dropping out of engineering school to pursue a job as a, what they used to call a webmaster, which is really just shorthand for, I've been doing this for a long time. And, you know, I'm probably in this conversation because of Kickstarter. So we'll talk a little bit about Kickstarter, but even prior to that was working on what I would say is like community based projects that supported communities in creative disciplines. So art design technology.
Charles Adler: [00:03:49] Yeah, 2009 and start is always an interesting thing, right So we launched April 28th of 2009. I remember the date very deeply for the rest of my life. Maybe it's on my tombstone. Anyway, April 28th of 2009 was when Kickstarter launched. But when it started actually as a way, way, way backstory. Predates me predates my other cofounder, UNC, that was 2001 with our third, the cofounder or the first co-founder, which is Perry. And he was living in new Orleans. So, you know, a, you know, all of these stories have a longer life than when first noted them or when tech crunch picked them up. Yeah. The connection for me was just in like how I met Perry and got connected into Kickstarter was. Again, kind of connecting back to this previous life. So prior to Kickstarter, I'd run it, my own design studio, design technology studio, building products for clients. And prior to that, I was at a consultancy for about a decade. So working with much larger clients, basically doing product development, and it was a colleague of mine, a K, a friend of mine, mine that I was working with there that introduced me to Perry. My would be co founder. And the two of them were freshmen college roommates. All right, right. See, you can't really make this up and you can't really plan for any of this. And what I would say is like the connection that I believe Scott who made the introduction had is he, you know, he just knew me. Like we were friends, we'd go out clubbing together. So he kind of knew some of my, I would say, like out of work idiosyncrasies, and also knew that I had been working on a particular project that was about. Empowering creative community, um, through technology, AKA the internet. Um, and it was, you know, something as simple as that, that got him to connect me to Paris.
Charles Adler: [00:16:04] Yes, we did. And that's a very difficult story, frankly. So, well, difficult stories are good drama intention. So yeah, we did, we were using Amazon FPS, which is a flexible payment service is one of the, sort of. Sibling products to AWS. It's kind of part of that suite, if you will. And I actually believe that is no longer approved of theirs. So I think which is also to say, I think we were their biggest customer, which is not a good place to be. And we're now on Stripe. 59ce067264
